Summary:

The VSAR project brings together leading players in this emerging technology area ~ NPL, IBM, BBC R&D and CAST to develop a toolkit for live-interactive 3D models that create visualisation to inform and maintain spatial awareness. VSAR will capture end user needs from the Security, Safety Critical Training, TV Broadcast & Emergency Response sectors with Prototypes in the Millenium Stadium tested by South Wales Police. The aim is to create a system that can integrate geometrically rich survey knowledge with video in real-time to create an interactive mixed-reality. VSAR aims to develop an affordable, commodity visualisation toolkit that can be applied to generic spatial data types and live video streams to produce VR output.
